For those who have searched in vain for a weight loss supplement that actually works for you and is safe, here are three few tips to help you narrow down the search to see through the scams, worthless products, and marketing tactics.

1. Look at the Ingredients!

This is where it takes resolve. Look past the pretty models endorsing this product or that product and look at what really matters: the ingredients.

Do you see any names that you recognize? Unless you have really done your homework, you probably don’t.

In the midst of five-syllable ingredients that you can’t even pronounce, head to your favorite search engine and research to find out what each individual part of the weight loss supplement does.

Is it a fat burner? Appetite suppressor? Does it retain lean muscle mass? Find out exactly what each ingredient does and make sure to check and see what the side effects are.

2. Check the Amounts

For each ingredient in a weight loss pill, there is a certain amount that you want to see in each serving. For Green Tea Extract, it is 300mg daily. For Irvingia Gabonensis, you need 315mg three times per day in order to see results.

Does the product you are researching have these amounts? If not, move along to another, because it is not worth your time or money to buy a product that won’t help you lose weight.

You may have noticed a trend in weight loss supplement labels: proprietary blends. These are patented blends of different ingredients (good or bad, and sometimes both) that make it so you can’t tell how much is in the blend.

Nothing compares to experience, and people who have used weight loss products have it. Read what they have to say, but take it with a grain of salt. Their results, whether good or bad, may not be your results.

Each person is uniquely individual, meaning that weight loss supplements will affect them in a unique way.

If the large majority of reviews for a product are positive, you can guess that they will probably be positive for you as well.

The opposite is true for negative reviews. There really is no way to be 100% what results you will see until you try a weight loss product.
